you have already experienced the marvel of the Banter 500 calendar. would anyone be interested in any of the following ideas: a Banter 500 screensaver a Banter 500 DVD (possibly once it's all over - it could contain all the videos and pictures) Banter 500 t-shirts Banter 500 hats / mugs / keyrings / magnets / badges / even bags Banter 500 Photo CD (you tell us what photos you want, and the high quality versions will be put on CD for you to enjoy) there'll probably be a charge for everything but the screensaver, but not at complete rip-off prices. let me know what you'd be interested in, and i'll do the rest. also ideas for what you would like to see on t-shirts ie what photos you would like to see on it. a complete list of things can be found here: www.cafepress.com/cp/customize/?viewall=trueany other ideas welcome!

I would definitely invest in a dvd at high street prices if it was well produced - menu screeens etc etc. Something truely encyclopedic - everything you never wanted to know about banter 500!!

Yeah, with things like Jk's song and all that sort of stuff, interviews with JK, Ak, bob and lee, a 'making of' Banter500 - clips of you preparing to perform tasks, and things going wrong etc

to be fair, i think when we head 'dvd' we may be expecting a little much. But even a dvd disc with everything on it would be nice to have.

bear in mind that as of yet, i dont have a dvd writer, and probably wont for the near future. it's just an idea in the back of my mind of something i would like to do eventually.
however, your suggestions are very good about having a making of, interviews and what not. all very good stuff. i had planned to put all the pictures and stuff in it, perhaps have a slideshow of them or something. essentially, it would be the website on dvd, and hopefully some extra stuff.

I'm pretty sure there are some easy DVD creation tools out now, free ones too. So you can make your own home movie stuff. In fact, does windows moviemaker have that facility? I think it might...

i've had a wee look at windows movie maker, but i cannot seem to find a dvd option in there.
does anyone know of any good tools that i could use.
if i am gonna make one, i'd like it to be as good as possible. so i need your ideas. what kind of things would you like to see on the DVD. would you like us to make some sort of movie / documentary about the whole thing. eg interviews with the cast, combined with videos of the challenges, and the pictures from the best ones. that sort of thing.
i will probably like to put all the pictures on the dvd as well. there are several things i can do with this:
a) have a number of different slideshows, either for each individual challenge, or for a group of challenges (eg all of AK's easy peasy challenges) b) have a slideshow for each challenge, with an audio commentary for each one, explaining what it is, and any interesting things that happened along the way. alternatively, instead of a voice commentary, a write up of what happened. c) a gallery, so that you can view the pictures at your own leisure d) all of / some of the above options
what are your thoughts on this. any other ideas are most welcome. if this is to be made, it's gonna be made for the fans, and those who actually want to watch it. so your input is gonna be needed. pete's ideas are excellent for example - i'll include most of those if possible.
man i'm excited about this.

I'd look on tucows etc for good free dvd creation tools - i think you'll only get a sense of what is what by trying the different ones out. I think that commentary options are perfect - perhaps the whole thing can be done like the website - ie, here are the categories, here are the challenges, click to view! If that were the way, I would try to have a separate slideshow capability where photos are rotated with a caption of who and what challenge. Rob P.S. I found TWO slugs on my kitchen floor last night. I was not happy, or completely coherant as to what on earth they were doing there. I chucked them out and put a load of salt down. P.P.S www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jfb5phsCyo This IS the eighties. So JK may want to go here soon P.P.P.S The slugs were ot small. They were very healthily sized.

good news - i have just ordered a PC with a DVD writer. the dream is alive. the dvd box set (oh yes) will probably take up about 3 dvds i reckon.
PPS - that mr T video was so surreal.
