it's amazing the number of people that you try and get on your side. despite never seeing them, or have lost contact, you still have a great desire to go and see them just in order to get more points. it's changing the priorities of my life and it is just so wrong!
however, for some reason it appears to be one of the greatest youth work initiatives ever, reaching all sorts of people. even some of the parents like it - it's amazing. i was showing people in work it the other day. it was giving a lemon to a horse. they probably think i am cruel to animals now as i had just showed them the pictures of letting a cat out of a bag...

I have a confession to make people of the banter 500 i didnt finish the 18p cola, i took it to work to finish it off and left it in the fridge and some blighter put it in the bin!! it would be easy for me to just go on without saying anything cus that stuff is vile and i never want any of it to touch my lips ever again but i have to stick with the sparit of the 500 if i didnt finish the challange then i dont deserve the points.

speaking of tesco cola, i managed to get myself a bottle. although i wasnt able to make it back to carrick (thanks for the tip-off trev), i did manage to send out another reconnaisance scout (cheers gav) to Lisburn's tesco. alright he worked there, but still good to have people in the know who can check these things out for you. on saturday night, we ended up being stuck in lisburn for some reason (i cant quite remember why). before that, we had been stuck in belfast. my friend dave drove us there, and whilst looking for a parking space, we just went into the first parking place we could find, which also was probably the most expensive. once we got parked, dave, just as he put the steering lock on, realised that he didnt have the key. after looking at potential tools to cut off the lock (thats true by the way), he decided to get the bus back to dromore and get the key from his house. once we got that sorted, we went to tescos looking for something to eat for dinner, but i thought while i was there i would look for some banter 500 props. i found the tesco 18p cola, and also got another prop. i cant tell you what it is just yet, until i put it up on the site. its a 20 pointer, and its a goodie! revelation people you know what it is - but dont discuss it until the evidence goes up on the site. but i managed to get that 2 litres drank. the first litre was ok, but the rest was a struggle. AK - i'd be willing to give you the points ifyou get a new bottle, and just drink the same amount that was thrown out. it just says 2 litres, with no time constraints.

give respect to AK. it would be all too easy to fake evidence in this game, but doing that just doesnt feel right. loads of people have been trying to get me to cheat, but it just aint right. if you're to cheat in one challenge, what's to say you havent cheated in another one. there has to be a certain amount of trust among the magnificent 4, as it can be difficult sometimes to prove that you've done something. AK has just confirmed that trust, and hats off to him.
in a completely unrelated note, i discovered today that my picture is on the front cover of a book today. i think it's a harold millar book. to quote brian foullis, i'm "the most photographed person in the church of ireland". true.

OK OK, I've been a bit undisciplined lately with regard to points, but it seems the latest plethera, yes plethera, of pictures has inspired me somewhat. Today i have already made a move on a 90 pointer which will of course cause me great expense both financially and timatically, (if that is a word).
I don't think I would ever get over losing the 500.

Things are looking up. Yesterday I stayed at Tanya's parents house and she enabled me to wake up and smell the coffee. Then on the way to the bus station her Dad told me a few war stories. oh and I also bit off more than I could chew.
Team Bob is truly back in action!

came across a failure yesterday. tried to coerce an old man into telling me an war story. my ears picked up when he mentioned things about rationing. when the opportunity arose, i asked him if he had any war stories, he told me that he didnt remember the war. rationing apparently went on till about 1954. rubbish. though i did do a 40 pointer at the weekend. i wore a ladies hat to a horse race. there were 2 days of racing. i went on the friday. mainly cos it was a fiver cheaper. i snuck the hat into the place with a bag. i watched a couple of races before i put the hat on. i didnt want to get kicked out so soon, plus i wanted to get a couple of pictures first to prove i was there. after 2 races i put it on. i stood beside the track and tried to take a picture of myself with the hat on, and the horses racing in the background. took me a good few attempts to get it. later on, i started wearing it in the grandstand. suprisingly, there were literally no reactions to it. well one guy in the crowd did, but that was about it. i think they were scared in case i dressed like that normally, and didnt want to offend me. well that was what the photographer from the newsletter told me. she only came up to me (despite seeing me several times) after she saw someone from the ulster tatler (yes the tatler!) taking my photo. never got into the newsletter unfortunately. anyway, have plenty of photos from it. and some stereotypical stuff that happens at horseraces. eg the horse riding off without the jockey, so that race was delayed until the horse returned. plus the jockey falling off the horse, and the horse finishing the race without him.
the saturday race event was cancelled due to a bomb alert. i was lucky to get there on the friday. that could have put an end to that banter attempt.
