No, its a challenge because it costs so much and its hard to find all the right stickers, thus forcing you to swap with kid, 'got, got, need' stylie.

The only sticker/trading card I ever owned was in P7 when I found a John Barnes football sticker on the ground. i didn't have any idea who he was (still don't). The question about the gift opens up a bigger question: Do the challenges have to have been completed either: for the purposes of Banter500 or since the inception of Banter500? Ie, If Bob had Roamed in Rome many moons ago and happened to have a snap, would it count, or, if he went last week, took a snap but wasn't doing it for the Banter500 (even in part) would it count?

fair enough about the stickers - just needed to clarify. gonna cost a fortune!
the challenges can be completed from before the banter 500 was even invented. for example, for acting on stage or screen, many of us have done it in school, but some sort of evidence needs to be provided. i think an effort needs to be made to try and do as many of the challenges now, especially as some of them are funnier now that we are older; eg bury treasure, build a fort using cushions from your sofa. it's kinda good looking through old photos for banter 500 stuff. rather annoyingly, when i was younger i was at stone henge. there are photos of stone henge, my family at stone henge, but none of me. i was not happy with my parents - they do not know what is at stake!
to answer the other question, you could unknowingly have completed one of the challenges, but as long as you have some sort of proof, either a write up or a photo / video.

is "have a go-kart race" the traditional build it yourself wooden jobbies, or the petrol go-karts?

I took it in the traditional sense.

It doesn't really matter that much anyway, because if we decide to count this as an American road trip then I have done one too, having been driven around seven states in 1998 before I was old enough to drive.

Just three little things:
1.I think the list needs revising, because as Johnny has pointed out before, loads of the challenges don't correspond to the points too well. Eg Sleep rough 20 points! I guess we can wait until AK comes back from the states and I'm home again to have a board meeting about it.
2. The challenges from the 'banter challenge request' section should be added. Some of them are very funny. (and don't forget 'Kiss someone as a load of fireworks go off in the background')
3. For some reason I can't get onto hotmail to send you my latest photo's (including my first 90, woohoo!) but I'll see what I can do.

travel 1st class on an airplane. it's not wacky or that interesting, but difficult, because short flights don'y have 1st class sections and long ones are about 3 times the cost - you need to blag it i reckon. what think ye?

i have already flown first class actually. we were on a holiday to california, and we were due to get a transfer at atlanta, however, the flight was late, and we missed our connecting flight. we had two options
a) hang around the airport and be put on standby. basically this means waiting around to see if people miss their flights. if so, you can take their place. however, this is not guaranteed.
b) we would be put up in a hotel for the night (not amazing though), then we would fly first class the next day.
suffice to say, we took option b). it was amazing - we got to see the amazing country-side that we flew over. we got massive seats (with lots of leg room). we got completely pampered by the flight crew (fresh fruit and food seemingly ever couple of minutes). and the best part of it was, we got METAL knives and forks! i couldnt believe my eyes.
i had thought about doing it, but didnt cos i had already done it. have no photographic proof either.

does that have a negative effect on the worthiness of the challenge? NO! Well, it's up to you actually. But I think for all the reasons you decribe it should be on there.

the challenege is still worthy - i just thought it would give me an unfair advantage.

this is another dubious one, which even i probably wouldnt give the points for. but worth a go. would "do a best man's speech" count for "do stand up comedy"? i did it Dave Gorman stylie with Powerpoint in the background. thankfully it got laughs in all the right places. i didnt know the audience which meant that i couldnt tailor the humour, but essentially it was stand-up with a nice bit at the end. my little sister recorded it all.
i wouldnt even give the points myself, but i'll see what the panel says.
